Challenge #201 - Lots of Layers

Happy Monday everyone! The start of a new week means a new challenge here at Use Your Stuff. This week I am challenging you to make a project with lots of layers on it.

Lori
I have made a card for my project, and I have layered it up using these pretty papers from Fancy Pants.

A page about my hubby's favourite guitar |(out of his 7) the Taylor.
The layers I have;  my background page is gessoed, misted, stencilled, inked, stamped, painted,
and also added layers of papers, washi, diecuts, flowers and brads!

I have been waiting for just the right layout to come so I could scrapbook this photo of my gorgeous daughter at a friends wedding last year.

Amanda
I used lots of layers to create this card for a friend of ours who loves fishing!

Challenge #200 and a Blog Hop

Welcome everyone to our 200th Challenge! We are so honored that so many of you have followed and played along with us as we give you challenges to help inspire your creativity and we get so excited to see your projects every week!

For our challenge we are using the theme CELEBRATE~!

You can celebrate a special person, a milestone, a holiday or event! However the theme relates to you!

To help us CELEBRATE we are very excited to have Kim Evans the owner of Emerald Creek Crafts sponsor our Blog Hop and she has graciously offered a prize to one lucky winner.

Emerald Creek Craft Supplies is synonymous with Kim Evans. The Emerald Creek was named for my passions, my best friend and husband Duncan who I have known and loved for 21 years, and my west coast passion for nature and the out doors. In the last 3 years I added the rubber stamp manufacturing division to my company with the intent to move from construction to crafting. This past year I felt it was time to launch out with the company. The reception from everyone has been wonderful. I believe in being happy and crafting makes me happy. I believe nothing should collect dust and love coming up with many new looks for each of my craft products. I also believe that everyone has more creativity within them that they can discover and I love seeing the joy when they create something new and outside of their comfort. So we come to you as Emerald Creek Craft Supplies: Helping you unlock your creative potential!

You can find the store here and Emerald Creek also has their own great blog with lots of DARES so be sure to drop by and see what they have to get your creativity flowing!

In order to win this great prize,

you have to leave a comment on each DT member's blog/gallery. The lucky winner will be picked from one of the blogs but we're not telling you which one!  Feel free to drop by Emerald Creek's FB page as well to say hi!

The hop goes from Monday November 16th until Saturday November 21st and the lucky winner will be announced on the 22nd!

Don't forget, this is also a challenge, so we really want to see what you are celebrating and be sure to link up below.

Challenge #199 Use Leftover Letter Stickers

Hi Friends!
This weeks challenge is to pull out a pack or two or even three of those leftover letter stickers, be they chipboard, foam or even flat letters, get them out and get them used up.
Here are few examples of a previous card and several layouts I created using those leftover letters...

Julia

I made several cards with the leftovers of at least 3 different packs of chipboard letters and finished up all 3 of those packs...plus I was able to use several of the wood veneer type writers that are nearly impossible to get used up!

I had these big letters leftover from a package, they were originally red, I painted them green and bordered them with yellow to match the letters on the background piece at the bottom of the photos. I then just layered them up as an embellishment...simple and it used them up!!

These started out as either raw, black or white chipboard. I painted them all with the same black paint and then covered that with black stickles for the glitter effect. They started out random but the paint and glitter effect brought them together to look a little more cohesive!

Finally I took five different sets of letters to create this background! Some of the letters that you just see a little of aren't really the letters that you may think they are... just a little creativity and you think you know what the next letter is!

MAJO

I used some foam to cut letters with the new Tim Holtz Thinlits *ABC123* for my CAS Card

I used a Little Letters Thinlits from Stampin Up and behind of this I pasted fun foam. I decided to create a non traditional colors Christmas Card.

Amanda

I always have a ton of z's left over! Finally found something to put them to use on!

So let's see what you can come up with this week! Make sure to leave your link so we can be inspired by your creations!!

Oh and this adorable card by 20. Billie A

How about perfect these old papers 23. Julene By Design: used  for her unique subject on this LO?

Thanks again for playing along everyone, you all deserve a "cheers!" And don't forget to come back tomorrow for the new challenge.

Challenge #198 - Use Old Stash!

My turn!  So many new pretty scrappy things are released all the time to tempt us,
but I want to see some OLD stash you forgot about, or
have been hoarding or saving because it's too pretty to use!
Or maybe it's not pretty enough to use?
Well~ dig it out and use it up anyway!
(What better way to make room for new goodies???)

Karrie
One of my favourite tricks to use up old stash is do some new techniques
and put it together with vintage photos.
My background paper is MME from 2007.  "Bohemian" and the "29th St Market"
lines had super thick cardstock that is perfect for doing mixed media on!

Shirley

I agree Karrie!  I had no trouble at all finding lots of scraps of patterned paper & buttons to create the layout below.

I have a ton of old stash that I have been trying to work through! I can't get rid of any of it, because I just may need it one day... Right?! The papers on this card are from a company that is no longer in business and the copyright says 2006. I have hoarded this piece of reindeer paper since then, because it was just too cute to use up!

Challenge #197 Highlights

Hello friends!

Thanks to everyone who played along with last weeks die cut challenge! We had so many crafters who shared their work using their beautiful stash! It was an extremely difficult job to limit the field to just 3 highlights, there were 63 projects to choose from!! I went through and chose a card (really 2), a tag, and a layout. I've linked each of the artist to their blogs so head over so you can ohh and ahh over there creations and leave them some blog love!!
