Challenge #277: Back to School, Back to Work...

It's almost September, time to head back to school, and some of us, back to work. Vacation is over and the real life and a regular daily rhythm take over, be it school / college / work / new job. For this challenge you can use any medium and any format, ATC, icad, layout, greeting card or journal page.

For this project, I went "Back to School."  Literally.  I went back to my college, Miami University, this summer and wandered the campus.  I had a wonderful trip down memory lane!

Luckily my grandsons Carter and Cole have already started school so I was able to create this layout using a photo their mom took on their first day of school. It's hard to believe they are now in first and second grades.

This weeks challenge was perfect to get me documenting my kids first day back at school this year. This layout is of my son, who headed into grade 5 this year. There will be a process video for this later in the week.

Karrie
My son got a new job so I made this gift tag for his "congrats" present.

Got my new job from being a temporary worker to a full time new hire.

I am going back to college for a last term. This is for everyone - study and feel your mind expand!

Challenge #276 - New Beginnings

As summer slowly comes to an end and we head into a new season of autumn, we have new beginnings.......so that is our challenge this week...a project highlighting something new - ie new home, new baby, new marriage, new possession etc

Retirement is a great new beginning for a lot of folks.

Amy.L
I have created this layout to document an upcoming new arrival to our family; my sister announced a few weeks back that she was pregnant! Very excited for our new family member.

Heather R.

My layout is about bringing home our youngest little one.  His older siblings were anxiously awaiting his arrival!

Amanda

I chose to do a layout from my first pregnancy - hard to believe this little one will soon be 5!

Lori

I have created a new baby card - that is always a fun new beginning!

For this challenge, I created a folio mini album.

Challenge #275: For the Love of Children

The challenge this week, should you choose to accept it, is to create a project with a child theme, it could be a layout about children, a child stamp, a homemade item for a child, whatever you can think of.....

Look what the Design Team has!

To me, nothing says child more than Disney.  So for this challenge, I dipped into my picture archives and featured pics of my girls at Disney World.

I made this layout for my granddaughter, Emma who will be entering 10th grade in September. But back in 2010 she was entering 3rd grade and got a little backpack and composition book for her constant companion, Lucky.

Khristina
I love combining lots of fun patterns on one layout along with pops of black.
My daughter adores this layout for her album because it fits her personality so well!

Amy. L
I have done this layout for my daughters album, documenting her love for puzzles. We spent many days, nights and hours teaching her how to put puzzles together and she learnt them so quickly- 1 very proud Mumma.
There will also be a process video over on my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCl1zJgxJ9Tplhsy8dnkcSrw

A card for a kid who loves robots.

Tina
Got lots of pictures of the Grandkids to scrap, doing it one layout at a time.

alice k.
I wanted to make something colorful. I started by taking my fingers and 'painting' the background. In reality it is just dots of watercolor done with my fingers, afterwards I stamped a geometric stamp three times with three primary colors on top.

Happy Monday everyone! I hope it is a lovely day wherever you may be joining us from!  A great new challenge awaits you.  Our theme this week is inspired by a Quote - this could be any quote that you have come across that just really hits home with you!

This is me on my 64th birthday. I am quoting from the Beatles song "When I'm 64". For a list of products that I used, check out my blog HERE

When I thought about this challenge, I looked through my many inspirational quotes that I like to read.  I really like the one I used on my planner spread for the upcoming week.

Heather R

A lot of my layouts seem to be inspired by my oldest who is heading off to college for the first time in just over a week. I love this picture of him back when he was about 4.  I paired it with one of my favorite Dr Suess quotes.
